This is an attempt to cover incumbent EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson and developments around him and his work... This is, thus, a contribution --not from the social justice viewpoint as such, but springing more from my atavistic, as it were, cynicism about Mandelson himself. Who's afraid of Peter Mandelson? He has the power to change the face of Africa and the developing world with the swipe of his pen. He's a powerful man. Who's afraid of Peter Mandelson? I certainly am.

I love Brussels, but I had to come back to my home of Accra, Ghana in Aug 2004 to work professionally. My journal-writing since 1989 only goes to underscore how the blogosphere is good country for me: it complements my various writings—including since Oct 2007, those for Ghana’s only Sunday newspaper Sunday World as ICT/Technology columnist, which position was seconded by a former boss.
